Change the Way You Think

Recently I’ve been reading Joyce Meyer’s book, Seven Things That Steal Your Joy. I find that when reading her books you need to take your time. By taking your time you can thoroughly study and digest what she is teaching. She teaches in such a simple way but her subject matter is so deep that you want to make sure that you understand her points before moving on. In fact in this book I have backtracked and re-read some chapters.

I want to share with you something that really struck a cord with me during today’s study. Joyce wrote the following on page 48.

“You are never going to enjoy the promise of the new life Jesus died

to give you until you change the way you think.

It’s not about what you can do–it’s about what Jesus has done for you.”

How very true this is!  Maybe you are feeling doubt, self pity, insecurity, condemnation, or guilt.  If you are,  then you should know that Jesus died to make you free.  He bore your sins on the cross so that you don’t have to carry them.  God loves you so much that He sent Jesus to do all that for you.  Jesus intercedes for us.   You have the right to be free in Jesus.

John 8:31-32 says:

“…If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;

and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Change the way you think.  Start reading and studying God’s Word.  Realize what God can do for you.  Give your troubles over to God and let Him carry it for you!

Till next time,
