How Do You Deal With Issues In Your Life?

1A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.

2The tongue of the wise utters knowledge rightly, but the mouth of the [self-confident] fool pours out folly.

3The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch upon the evil and the good.

4A gentle tongue [with its healing power] is a tree of life, but willful contrariness in it breaks down the spirit.

Proverbs 15:1-4

These words rang so true for me at the end of last week. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were trying times for me.  It seemed that I was getting tested from every side — my family, my friends, and even in my blogging.  It was a classic example of when I needed to have had my list made of scriptures to read when dealing with “mouth” issues.  If I had these verses written down, along with other verses on the mouth, then I could have went to them and read them and it would have calmed me down.   I would have given soft answers instead of somewhat harsh and angry answers.  My attitude would not have been impacted to the point that it was.  I would have had a gentle, healing tongue instead of a mouth and a half that seemed to fall right into the trap of igniting the already lit fire that was consuming the people that I was dealing with.  Finally late Saturday afternoon when I gave it over to God to deal with and guess what — it all calmed down.

I will start making my lists of scriptures on things that I am dealing with right now in my life and I will start praying for God to give the strength to deal with the issues.  Are there issues in your life that you are dealing with and they just aren’t getting better?  Have you prayed about it and given it to God?  He loves to hear from you and His shoulders are big enough to carry whatever it is that you need to give to Him.  Have you looked up Scriptures that deal with the issues you are dealing with?  Speaking God’s Word over the issues also lightens the load.  Try it!

Till next time,

  1. God really wants us to meditate on His Words. For out of the heart the mouth speaks. If we put God’s Words in our hearts, we would speak forth more of His words and our actions will be guided as well. God bless us – you on all the issues you have to face as I have mine also.

  2. I love your blog, how can I subscribe? I consider myself a baby Christian, just recently learning the ways of our Lord. Thank you for this blog. I have a social media blog, but I also have a Christian blog, here is the link: http://www.scriptureglimpses.com

  3. I have actually tried learning to pray and be patient every time I respond to people, even in the blogging world. People can be so nasty and try so hard to promote conflict in their word choice.

I don’t know how well I am succeeding, but I am definitely trying!

We could all learn from the wisdom of what you have posted.

    God Bless!
