Me and My Big Mouth
Today I made the decision to start a new Bible study. A couple of years ago I purchased Joyce Meyer’s Study Guide to her book, Me and My Big Mouth.” I need to purchase her book that goes with it but I’m still going to study without it and catch up when it comes in. One reason I’ve been putting it off is because of the subject matter. I haven’t been ready to deal with my mouth and thinking before I speak or write.
In the introduction, Joyce points out the following:
“Words are containers for power. They have the power to be either creative or destructive. Every day we have new opportunities to say words that encourage, edify, and give hope. What we say to or about others as well as ourselves can gloriously heal or deeply hurt.”
Proverbs 18:21 tells us that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it.”
